Xcacel Beach

One of the world's best beaches

Xcacel is a remote and beautiful beach with deep white powder sand and crystalline waters.  Still relatively unknown, it is a tranquil beach with few people. Xcacel is, however, well populated with turtles during their nesting season (May-November) when the mother turtles come ashore to bury their eggs. The area is thoroughly protected but be careful where you step so as not to flatten any mounds of buried turtle eggs.

Xcacelito Cenote

a Secret piece of paradise

Beyond the beach and the dunes, there's a narrow sandy path surrounded by impenetrable jungle. Follow the path to the very end to find this incredibly beautiful hidden cenote which shines like a mirror of crystal clear water reflecting all the trees and mangroves surrounding it. The cenote water is fresh, and there are lots of small tropical fish living there so bring your snorkel gear.

Akumal Bay

world class snorkeling & diving

The waters here are teeming with tropical fish and coral reefs. Three major reef formations range in depth from 25 to 140 feet. In addition to the brightly colored fish and coral, the reefs host turtles, eels and sharks. Divers can also explore fresh water cenotes and 120-foot sunken ship just off-shore. Along Akumal's beach, a variety of water sports are available. Rent kayaks and paddle down to the lagoon for some snorkeling, or rent a boat with a captain to enjoy a day of fishing. Get an aerial view of Akumal by parasailing from the beach or rent a jet ski for an adrenaline pumping tour of the riviera.

Tulum Ruins

The ancient mayan city by the sea

Even if you are not a history buff, the ruins at Tulum will take your breath away.  Imagine having made all of these pyramids and structures without the use of any modern tools we have access to today? There are hundreds of Mayan ruins throughout Cent, but the Yucatan Peninsula (where Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Cancun are) has some of the most impressive ruins. If you do want to combine  the Tulum ruins with other activities and make a day of it, you do have a few choices. The Tulum ruins are built by the sea, so wear your swimsuit and head down to the beach for a refreshing dip.
